I decided to base the surgeon on vegetables he's more grounded as a character and I wanted him to be the polar opposite of his wife and I thought that vegetables would be a good base for him.
... ah hah! Someone else thinking the same as me, P-G; and look, you've still got that slighty 'hairy' drawing style here and it's not going to help you in terms of identifying strong shapes - keep your lines clean and unbroken and think in terms of solid forms and simple, clean shapes - it will help you, promise! :D
