Image2 ( this image was a development of image 1)

Image 3 ( I think the lighting is a bit too vivid here but I was just experimenting with different filters)

Image4 ( I was trying out a different colour for the lighting thats coming from above but it just looks unnatural as blue because it's mixing with the yellows tones in the image to crate a weird green lighting.

I think that Image 2 is working the best, but I think that it still needs something.

Development of my final piece

I created a few more possible concepts image 1 and 2 and then I decided to work on the image that I got the most positive feedback on.Image 1 gave me the idea of having Gaia as negative space in the back wall of my image in image 3 and 4.

Initial ideas for the secret Lair after my OGR

After the online Green light review I started to sketch more elements to add to my scene, to make the space feel filled with elements that the Jurassic Priestess would have in her lair.
In this drawing focussing on the top left hand corner  I thought about having steps  that lead up where the priestess might worship the Gods. I also thought making the fire God more of an object and not just a light source which is the meshed ball with a yellow rim around it.

I also started to think about maybe adding an old nest of hatchlings with broken shells and withered foliage. The three Sketches below the nest were initial ideas for a wind chime that could represent the wind God.

More Wind chimes ideas
I decided that I wanted feathers on my wind chimes to incorporate the factor that my Priestess is half bird I wanted her feathers to be very vivid and bright to add more colour to my scene.

 I

I started to work on top of my sketches that I did at the natural history museum of fossils to create a space using those drawings for my lair. Below I wanted to use the fossilised fins of a creature as the entrance of a cave for my fire God.

After speaking to some friends about my final piece I decided to look at my drawings from my  visit to the natural history museum and turn my drawings of fossils into spaces these are both initial ideas of possible spaces for my Jurassic Priestess  .

number 4's progression

After everyones feed back i've been adding to lair number four . Im still working on the foreground and I still have my hero prop to the scene but i feel like its working as a space thats inside a tree. I've added Gaia and the orange glow is a representation of fire for the fire god.

influence Maps

I wanted to gain visual references for different things so I've been using these influence maps to help me create my lair.

Influence map1 is for a tree house lair

Influence map2 are images i collected for possible things that could go on the walls of some of the lairs like moss and fossils and cave paintings.

Influence map3 are insects from the jurassic period that i was looking at in the beginning of the project to gain inspiration for components that could make the scene like using the millipedes skin as a texture for the walls.

Influence map 4 is for a possible cave environment

thumbnails

I created a few thumbnails that I thought could be located inside an old hollow conifer tree i haven't added in the god statues yet because i wanted to see if these worked as an environment first.

Jurassic priestess cave drawing

I wanted to create a stencil of my character to go on the walls as part of the cave drawings I want to be on the walls that depict how future Priestesses should praise the gods.  I wanted to focus on negative space and making the image appear on the wall . I then took my stencil into photoshop and used the skills I learnt in the last photoshop lesson and added texture masks and played around with the colours to make it appear like something that was drawn on the walls.

Hero prop

I started looking up scrolls and started to draw some rough ideas of what the scroll could look like for my hero prop I like the long scroll and I want to make it thicker and incorporate a fossil possibly into the scroll something like fossil 2.
